If you are travelling at night or in poor light : it would be advisable to continue on the N3 passed the Estcourt Shell Ultra City and take the Colenso/ Bergville glide off and turn left towards Bergville. When you are passing through Winterton you will take a left opposite the Engen Service Station, cross the railway and continue on towards the Central Berg on the R600, proceed for ± 13km to the crossroad junction at Thokozisa.

Cross straight over and continue for 15 km before turning left off the R600, follow the Cathkin Estates signs for 2,5 km and you will arrive at the Gate House and entrance to the Estate.

Otherwise: your quickest route is to turn left at the Estcourt North Gaints Castle Central Berg glide-off, and carry on through Loskop for 28kms. Please note there are lots of cattle and animals so stay alert!

You will reach the crossroads at Thokozisa, turn left to follow the signs to the Central Drakensberg and Cathkin Estates. Follow this road for 15 kms before turning left off the R600, follow the Cathkin Estates signs for 2,5 km and you will arrive at the Gate House and entrance to the Estate.

From Johannesburg:

Freeway Route:

Travel south from Johannesburg to Van Reenen's Pass on the N3. Pass through the Tugela Toll Plaza which is at the bottom of Van Reenen's Pass. Continue approximately 14 kilometers to the R616 BERGVILLE turn off, proceed left on the N11 towards Ladysmith for approximately 4 kilometers and turn right onto the R600 Spioenkop / Winterton Rd.

Continue over the highway, and past Spioenkop Lodge / Nature Reserve. When you reach a T-Junction, turn left to Winterton. In Winterton turn right onto the R600, CENTRAL BERG road, which is directly opposite the Engen service station; proceed for ± 13km to the crossroad junction at Thokozisa.

Cross straight over and continue for ± 15 km before turning left off the R600, follow the Cathkin Estates signs for 2,5 km and you will arrive at the Gate House and entrance to the Estate.
